By Chloe Restaurant in Silverlake

So, I finally checked out the hot and new vegan restaurant in Silverlake. As you know, I am brutally honest, and although I am a vegan, I am a foodie first, and so, I will tell you what was BOMB and what wasn't SO BOMB...


This is the Kale Caesar Salad and the Air-baked fries. I love the salad and would def order again! Fries were good too.

This was the Mac & cheese, Pesto Meatball Sub, Regular Burger, and Avocado Pesto Pasta...LOVED THE AVOCADO PESTO PASTA! MUST GET! The burger was good too, but I didn't love the bread - Great thousand island sauce though All the rest were BLAH

Oh, and their desserts (cupcakes, cookies, etc) are INCREDIBLE! Chloe did win the Cupcakes Wars after all...

'The Paleo Diet'

Alright. So let's discuss 'The Paleo Diet.' This idea that all of our Paleolithic ancestors ate only animal protein, eggs, and some fruits and vegetables. First off, we humans are NOT carnivores: "Humans have no known anatomical, physiological, or genetic adaptations to meat consumption." If you don't believe me, please do your research. Okay. Now that you know that, also know that there is no such thing as a general 'Paleo Diet' - It is a scientifically unsubstantiated. Our paleolithic ancestors probably ate whatever was regional and seasonal to them - including grains and legumes! YES, we ate CARBS.


If you truly want to eat the way our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate then eat locally-sourced and seasonal grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables. And please stop claiming that we are carnivores. It's simply not true. Oh and please watch the video. It's really good.
